BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams travel to three last chance meets this weekend, Friday-Saturday, May 8-9, on the heels of a successful College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship last weekend. Fourteen Titans look to improve on their national marks.
The Titans will head to three meets this weekend. On Friday, seniors Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon, Ill.-Mattoon) and Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East), sophomore Jacob Pinkston (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East), and freshman Luke Huffaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) will compete at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite. Senior Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) will compete in Joliet, Ill. Saturday in the men's pole vault.

At the Uncaged Eagle Open in La Crosse, Wis. on Friday, freshmen Cameron Rask (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), Gwendolyn Boettinger (Palos Park, Ill.-Stagg), Dylan Hodges (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore), and Tori Brown (Glasford, Ill.-Illini Bluffs), along with juniors Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia), Nyamedze Maison (Groveland, Ill.-Illini Bluffs), and Noah Sadowski (Burr Ridge, Ill.-Hinsdale South), and senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) are scheduled to compete in sprints. Boettinger and Brown will participate in high jump and triple jump, respectively.
Junior Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) will head to Bloomington, Ind. Friday night to compete in the Billy Hayes Invitational, hosted by Indiana University.
Five Titans currently sit within the national championship cut line, which is top-22 in the Division III rankings. Following her CCIW title in the women's 800m, Huber is ranked 13th in the nation with a season-best time of 2:10.49. Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) is ranked top-10 in the women's 3000m steeplechase, as her time of 10:33.93 sits sixth in Division III.
Junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) is second-best in the women's triple jump as she looks to defend her national champion status. Boettinger sits within the cut line in the women's high jump, ranking 20th with a season-best height of 1.66m. French is No. 19 in the women's javelin, throwing 42.08m at the Thursday Night Twilight April 23.
