CHICAGO — Indiana University Northwest sophomore Raniyah Preston (Sauk Village, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Setter of the Week for Week 2, the conference announced Tuesday.
Preston earned the weekly honor following a strong all-around performance during the RedHawks' opening four matches of the 2026 season. She averaged 5.12 assists and 2.41 digs per set, while also contributing 30 kills and 11 service aces throughout the week.
The sophomore setter was especially effective in IUN's two matches Saturday, recording 29 assists in back-to-back five-set contests against Waldorf University (Iowa) and Clarke University (Iowa). Preston helped guide the RedHawks to a victory over Clarke to close out the weekend.
Preston also totaled 29 assists across two matches earlier in the week, helping IUN secure wins over Goshen College (Ind.) and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas).

In addition to her setting duties, Preston provided an offensive presence for the RedHawks, averaging 1.76 kills per set and finishing the week with a .229 hitting percentage. Her 11 aces also helped IUN create additional scoring opportunities from the service line.
The four matches marked the first contests of the season for the RedHawks, with Preston playing a key role in directing the IUN offense throughout the opening weekend.
Preston becomes the latest RedHawk to earn weekly recognition from the CCAC after helping IUN open the season with a 3-1 record.
